Newsletter March 2010 - Reducing & Green Organizing

The days are getting longer, the crocuses are popping up, and bright colors are appearing in stores, not to mention the rain.  It sure feels like spring to me.  So, are you ready to roll up your sleeves and do some spring organizing?

One A Day
My headshot Can I interest you in the One A Day Challenge?  For one month would you be able to get rid of one thing a day?  I mean permanently remove the thing from your space.  That is the challenge.  Here are some examples of easy to toss items to help you with your decisions.  If you have more than one of these items, toss out the whole lot.  It will be liberating.
1.  Junk mail
2.  A sock that has been missing its match for months
3.  A magazine that you've been meaning to read for 3 months
4.  A kitchen gadget that you've used only once
5.  A plastic take away container or disposable container
6.  An electric adapter to a gadget you no longer own
7.  A wire cloths hanger
If you take the One A Day Challenge I'd love to hear your insights and feedback.  Please e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Testimonials

“I am an extremely disorganized stay-at-home-mom of three little tornadoes.
One of the best parts of having Janine help me organize is that I made it a
priority.  We set a time to work and I loved having someone help me.  When I
try to de-clutter by myself I usually get side tracked by something else.
Janine is wonderful.  She helped organize and de-clutter two of my bedrooms
and lots of paperwork.  She gave me lots of tips and encouragement.  It was
a relief to be able to find groups of things; library books, store returns
and more all in one spot rather than looking throughout the house and
wasting time gathering these items when I needed them.  I am trying to
maintain the organization and am utilizing the skills she taught me to apply
through the rest of my house.  I can't wait to have her come back and help
me with my kitchen!”   - Kat M. - Blackstone, MA
